You see, at just the right time when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us
The Lord's answer: “Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed.(L) For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.(M) Habakkuk
Habakkuk takes us to Jesus's second coming. Halleluia!
We had a fantastic time last Saturday for the wedding of my step daughter Verity with David Yarwood. Everybody had a fun time and it was great to meet new people and make new friends. Everything went smooth and as they say photos speak louder than words, here they are!
I'm delighted to report that the couple travelled well to their honeymoon location in St Lucia that they described as paradise. The Lord bless you richly Verity and David in Jesus' mighty name.
I'm losing contact forgetting what is real Able to touch but not able to feel It's easier to shut out everyone I'm chasing after my newest distraction to escape it all
My God, oh, my God, what have I become? The self-addicted one My God, oh, my God, You never failed me You're what I need
So often I'm the sleeping prayer More often I'm the weeping betrayer Sometimes I play the martyr, become the traitor
The humbled sinner has never been a role I knew to play
My God, oh, my God, what have I become? The self-addicted one My God, oh, my God, You never failed me You're what I need
Treason, a pound of flesh is the debt Leaving a crippled man I'll give You all I have left A straining outstretched hand
Is it enough? Is it enough? Reach down, take me back, take me back
My God, oh, my God, what have I become? The self-addicted one My God, oh, my God, You never failed me You're what I need
My God, oh, my God (My God, oh, my God) My God, oh, my God I'll give You all I have left A straining outstretched hand
“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment (Philippians 1:9).”
George Pinwell, A Beckets troth the Saracen Maiden entering London at Sundow
Charles Dickens in his “Child’s History of England” tells of the romance of Thomas a Becket’s parents. Gilbert Becket was a London merchant in the 11th century. While on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, he was taken prisoner by a Saracen lord who had a beautiful daughter. The girl fell in love with Gilbert and expressed a desire to become a Christian, escape with him and become his wife. Gilbert seemed to return her love until he found a chance to escape with Richard, his servant. Once he was back in England, Gilbert’s love for the beautiful Saracen maid began to grow dim until he all but forgot about her. But while his love was decreasing, her love was increasing. She left her father’s home in disguise to follow Gilbert and made her way to the coast. Gilbert had taught her two English words, “London” and “Gilbert.” She went from ship to ship saying over and over the name of the city where she so desperately wanted to go. She found a ship going to London and with some of her jewels paid for her passage. She soon arrived in London.
As Gilbert was sitting in his office one day his servant, Richard, came
running in saying, “The Saracen lady! As I live, she is going up and
down calling out, ‘Gilbert! Gilbert!’” Gilbert went out and found her in
the crowds. When she saw him she fainted in his arms. Soon
afterwards they were married.
Distance can sometimes destroy a love affair. But true love will
overcome whatever the obstacle.
Do we have a true love for our Lord?
A love that is increasing day by day?
We should pray as Paul prayed
for the Philippians that our “love may abound yet more and more....”

13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Welcome to my blog, if you happen to read this post, may the Lord bless you richly and draw you closer to Him.
Today this was my short message: if somebody comes to you in the street and say something nasty to you, what should you do?
Four types of answers come to mind, 1 - say something equally nasty to them, 2 - tell them to go away, 3 - walk away 4- take refuge in a shop or speak to a policeman We won't go down the line of saying that one should punch or give a beating! If I would suggest that you could say something nice instead, would you be surprised. It says in the Bible that 'Pleasant words are [as] a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.' Proverbs 16:24 Are you surprised ? then think about the qualities of honey. This is such a lovely picture.
Let's consider the sacrificial love, the love that conquers all.
More to come.
Have a blessed evening my friends. In the name of Jesus our saviour and redeemer.
Tonight, my hubby and I decided to watch this remarquable film, War horse. It is set during World War I and it describes the beautiful bond between a young man named Albert (Jeremy Irvine) and his loyal horse, Joey. Albert's dad, Ted decided to buy the horse at an auction even though he needed a shire horse for the farm. As war starts, Albert and Joey are separated when Albert's dad sells it to a British lieutenant so that he can pay the rent. The two horses are deployed to Flanders where the unit is mowd down by unexpected machine gun. A very sad scene and the German seize the horses. Though I loved the film, some scenes are very moving and I got somehow emotional.
If you haven't watched it, here is a link on youtube!

Dear friends, we have been very busy those last days looking after our house in Civray, south of France. First Steven had to mow the lawn or should I say the 'field'. It was a big job because the grass and weeds became thick and long, in fact it took him ages to do one part of the garden and now we are waiting for some good weather to do the rest. Then woodworms; we knew that there were some in the shelves in the basement so Steven bought the gear and the spray in England, getting ready for the onslaught! ...later the lawn s been cut, and the woodworms hopefully exterminated I battled with the ivy only to realise that this poor bush was really struggling under the sap sucking ivy so we were wondering if it was worth 'saving' one of the main branches was covered with thick layer of ivy all around it.. Hope you are having a blessed day.. A few photos
We went to Ruffec, a lovely town not far from us and on the way back we stopped in a wood full of sweet chestnuts trees and we had great pleasure to pick them up, they were pretty easy to open up and we were grateful to the Lord for this unexpected bonanza. Much love. N.
