Do not judge and you will not be judged.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and it will be given to you.

Pea shooting?

 Not long ago, Hixon church met up for a social afternoon at Jenny's.
Many came and enjoyed the strawberries and cream
as they were absolutely delicious!
We will mention also the bubbly and wine...in moderation of course!
I am sure that you will admire Jenny's beautiful sweet peas...

 Comfortable, smily, and definitely chatty (before the photo)

Roger and Jenny, our host, going round asking if anybody wanted more strawberries..
.well I assure you that they did not stay long on the  tray!
Proud parents Ben and Lucy with content baby Lilly
Anna-Greta having fun on the balançoire.
We also played 'boules' and Geraldine was the winner of the overall game.
What else, a game of pea-shooting that was new for me...
.much to my regret, I also found out that I was absolutely rubbish at it
 so gave up and let the champions keep on!
That was a great afternoon of fun and fundraising.
A big thank you to Jenny and her helpers for organising this event!
 Praise the Lord for this memorable time!

Joy!

Some time ago, we cycled up to Weston, I must confess, with some difficulty, I'll speak for myself, being so unfit! Still, when we arrived there, we were wondering whether to keep on to Stone. However, Steven's bike needed some attention and we went to see our friends Alan and Pat.
Here are some photos of their lovely garden, ready for the Open gardens competition!
I particularly love the clematis. Mum had one very similar in the front porch and used to pamper it a lot.

 While we were having a long chat, I could not help noticing those baby birds as they were so noisy and hungry. Mum made lots of trips to feed them.

Hixon school fair

Some time ago, it was St Peter's School fair. It was very well attended as the sun was out. A bit of a breeze too, so just the weather you want for a fair!

One could get to know some ducklings, get lots of raffle tickets, eat burgers, hot dogs and ice creams.

I remember enjoying going to our school fair being a child. It was called 'la kermesse'.

Parents would chat while we could disappear and chat too with our friends.

Tale of a squirrel!

 Once upon a time, Mr Sid, a squirrel lived in the woods at the back of a vicarage. In those days, you had to be alert to danger and kept sight of the fence in case some odd visitors would come and rob you!

That day Mr Sid noticed lots of tasty seeds hidden under the shy buttercups and the beautiful white clover flowers.

While feasting on nuts, Mr Sid decided that he should invite Miss Lass in this garden and share his secret!

The Vegetarian option!

Since Camille has been back from university, she has enjoyed cooking for her sister and herself.
As Imogen is vegetarian, they have tried a variety of recipes and on that hot day, it was falafel, chips, salad, tomatoes, salsa, humous. They enjoyed it very much. I like falafel though in small dose as I do watch the calories...
What about you? Do you have a vegeterian meal sometimes or do you prefer your meat?

Let's rejoice!

Some time ago, Mid-trent churches team celebrated the ordination of Jason (first photo, on the right)  in Stowe-by-Chartley. It was a time of reflection and joy. Here are a few snapshots I took after the service.

When you think that you cannot find the answer...

I have found this week a bit challenging...one of my family member said I was endoctrinated (!) just because I was telling him how becoming a Christian had transformed my life for the better..
then everytime I think that I am growing..one step forward...somehow I manage to take two steps backward..not being 'alert'
So I am here wondering why and this morning when i quickly checked my inbox, I had a message from
The Berean Christian Bible Study Resources
and this is it :
You Need to Persevere
Heb 10:35,36 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Confidence is revealed by one's response to persecution, be it verbal or otherwise. But saving faith is not simply confident, it perseveres. Even Paul himself was concerned about being disqualified, and thus speaks of exercising self-control saying, "I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." 1Cor 9:27

"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." Jas 1:12 But the reward for perseverance is not just rewards in heaven, a confident perseverance in the faith communicates conviction and consequently wins a hearing for the gospel, or otherwise provokes fellow Christians to do likewise.

Of course what is implied in all this is the fact that we will be subjected to discouraging circumstances. But "consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls." Heb 12:3
Do you believe in coincidence? I don't...Blessings

Kenny!

Last Friday, our rabbit Kenny (6 y.o.) died of a stroke! Early in the morning my hubby found him not looking too good and he gave him a big hug. A few moments later he passed away. He's had enormous cysts round his jaw and he lost weight. The vet kept getting rid of the matter in the cysts but the cysts grew again! I'd already left for work so i only found out late afternoon. Though we knew he was not well, it was still a shock! We miss him lots. Here is Imogen giving him a big cuddle. Blessings.

Maybe you'll get the last question right... Maybe...

Fourth Question:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did you Answer Nunu? NO! Of course it isn't.
Her name is Mary! Read the question again!
Okay, now the Bonus round,
i.e., a final chance to
redeem yourself:
A mute person goes into a shop and wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of brushing his teeth he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done.
Next, a blind man comes into the shop who wants to buy a pair of sunglasses; how does HE indicate what he wants?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's really very simple

He opens his mouth and ask for it...

How great is our God: the lyrics

VERSE(1):
The splendor of a King,
clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice,
all the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light,
and darkness tries to hide
it trembles at his voice,
trembles at his voice

CHORUS(1):
How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great
How great is our God

VERSE(2):
And age to age He stands
and time is in His Hands
Beginning and the End,
Beginning and the End
The Godhead, three in one
Father, Spirit, Son
the Lion and the Lamb,
the Lion and the Lamb

CHORUS(1):
How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God

CHORUS(2)
Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
how great is our God
Name above all names
you are worthy of all praise
and my heart will sing
how great is our God

CHORUS(1):
How great is our God,
Sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God

CHORUS(1):
How great is our God,
Sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God
How great is our God,
Sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God

How great is our God!
