A special parrot.err...

Well, it's pretty difficult to find excellent jokes these days...tonight I found this one about a special parrot..

One day a man goes to a pet shop to buy a parrot. 

The assistant takes the man to the parrot section and asks the man to choose one. 

The man asks, ''How much is the yellow one?''

 The assistant says, '' 2000.'' 

The man is shocked and asks the assistant why it's so expensive. The assistant explains, ''This parrot is a very special one. 

He knows typewriting and can type really fast.'' ''What about the green one?'' the man asks. The assistant says, ''He costs 5000 because he knows typewriting and can answer incoming telephone calls and takes notes.'' 

''What about the red one?'' the man asks. The assistant says, ''That one's 10,000.'' 

The man says, ''What does HE do?'' 

The assistant says, ''I don't know, but the other two call him boss.''

The Vegetarian option!

Since Camille has been back from university, she has enjoyed cooking for her sister and herself.
As Imogen is vegetarian, they have tried a variety of recipes and on that hot day, it was falafel, chips, salad, tomatoes, salsa, humous. They enjoyed it very much. I like falafel though in small dose as I do watch the calories... 
What about you? Do you have a vegeterian meal sometimes or do you prefer your meat?

Pear cake and brownies

That evening I looked at some pears that were ripening too fast in the fruit bowl and thought I'd better use them before they rot! So, I found a recipe for a pear cake and this is how it turned out. Later on I asked Camille to do her special treat, brownies. She's done them before and she has a special knack for them. They are usually delicious.

Well, here is the verdict!

The pear cake is edible but nobody has eaten much of it yet !
Three quarters of it are still there intact !

The brownies are absolutely delicious and we are making a real effort not to finish them in one go!
