Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and it will be given to you.

Lazy week in London

While I was up above in the sky, well, in the plane, I felt very grateful to our Father in heaven as the girls and I were blessed with a great hols! Two weeks abroad, one spent in London with Imo and the second week in Malta with Imo and Cam. Here are a few photos. Last time I went in a plane was in 2012 when Steven and I went to Rome and I enjoyed the experience again!
From the plane 19 Oct Ryanair Poitiers to Stansted

At an Indian restaurant, N3

On the Thursday Imo took me to Hackney city farm established in 1984. Their aim is to give youngsters and local people the opportunity to experience farming. Nearby, there was an exhibition by #Green creates so we had a look. Great stuff!

I particularly liked the pieces above!
Sadly I realise that if you stop talking about the environment, or recycling for instance, its importance may be forgotten! We travelled by bus in London and we were pleased to notice that more drivers switched off their engines when not on the move. This should have a significant impact on harmful emission levels which build up around stationary traffic.
More to come...so watch this space!
Have a blessed evening.

Chibok: the Fathers' stories

In April 2014, over 200 girls were abducted by Boko Haram islamists from the Chibok High School for girls in Nigeria
The girls are still missing, their parents are grieving.
In this short film, three of the fathers of the missing Chibok girls talk about the pain of losing their daughters, and say thank you for the support they’ve received from around the world.

Thousands of Christians have been killed or displaced by Islamic extremists in Nigeria.

Militant Islamist group Boko Haram continue to terrorise the north and have declared their own caliphate (Islamic State), although President Buhari's campaign against them has had some success.

However, Islamic Hausa-Fulani herdsmen, who frequently carry out cruel attacks on Christian villages in Nigeria's middle belt, are being given grazing land by the government taken from indigenous Christian communities, depriving Christians of their fields and livelihoods.

From Wales to London

During this week in Wales (see previous post), I planned to go to London to see my darling daughter Imo and help her move accommodation. It was a bit daunting driving all the way from Llantrisant to Finnsbury Park but on the map, all I had to do was to go on the M4.
It was hard work to empty her bedroom as she had lots of stuff but she gave me her winter clothes to take back home so it did help!
In the evening we took the tube to go to her 'favorite' chinese restaurant and we had a great time.
We started to take her stuff to her new house only 5 minutes away from her uni halls. However by car, it took a bit longer. We also had to get a few more things in the nearby Ikea.
As I write those lines now, I get emotionnal, she has been busy working hard and I thank the Lord that we had this special time together!
Have a blessed evening.

Some information on the Dolomites

Image result for dolomites

Camille has gone there for a month, as an au-pair, she is discovering a beautiful place. She has already gone walking at an altitude of 1324 m and did not complain!

So where are the Dolomites? Dolomites is the name of the mountain range situ
ated in the south of the Alps, between the Adige and Piave rivers and between the Val Pusteria and the Belluno valleys and spread out in the Italian Provinces Bolzano (South-Tyrol), Trento, Belluno, Udine and Pordenone.

The term Dolomite is a gesture to their discoverer, the Marquis Déodat Gratet de Dolomieu (1750 – 1801). He took some rock samples during his trip to our mountains in 1788, analysed them and was the first to announce their chemical composition (double calcium carbonate and magnesium).
Badia, 1,324m

The quiet village of Badia is situated at the foot of the Sasso Santa Croce (Sas dla Crusc in Ladin language), the mountain that is tinged red when the sun sets. Badia is known for its beautiful nature walks and sunny, easy ski slopes.
Have a blessed week-end.Yours in Christ. N.

Pear cake and brownies

That evening I looked at some pears that were ripening too fast in the fruit bowl and thought I'd better use them before they rot! So, I found a recipe for a pear cake and this is how it turned out. Later on I asked Camille to do her special treat, brownies. She's done them before and she has a special knack for them. They are usually delicious.

Camille mixing up the brownie mixture!
Well, here is the verdict!
The pear cake is edible but nobody has eaten much of it yet !
Three quarters of it are still there intact !
The brownies are absolutely delicious and we are making a real effort not to finish them in one go!
