Do not judge and you will not be judged.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and it will be given to you.

John 12:37-50New International Version (NIV)

Belief and Unbelief Among the Jews

37 Even after Jesus had performed so many signs(A) in their presence, they still would not believe in him. 38 This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet:
“Lord, who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”[a](B)
39 For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere:
40 “He has blinded their eyes
    and hardened their hearts,
so they can neither see with their eyes,
    nor understand with their hearts,
    nor turn—and I would heal them.”[b](C)
41 Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory(D) and spoke about him.(E)
42 Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him.(F)But because of the Pharisees(G) they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;(H) 43 for they loved human praise(I) more than praise from God.(J)
44 Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me.(K) 45 The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me.(L) 46 I have come into the world as a light,(M) so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
47 “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.(N) 48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them(O) at the last day. 49 For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me(P) to say all that I have spoken. 50 I know that his command leads to eternal life.(Q) So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”(R)

What is suffering for the name of Christ?

The context in 1 Peter is that of persecution and suffering for the name of Christ during our sojourn on this earth. Suffering is a training tool that God uses, like the blast furnace used by a refiner of fine metals, to purify and develop our faith. This is a humbling process in that it causes us to live more and more in dependence on God. For the refining concept, note 1 Peter 1:6-9.

6 This brings you great joy, although you may have to suffer for a short time in various trials. 7 Such trials show the proven character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold—gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away—and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 You have not seen him, but you love him. You do not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, 9 because you are attaining the goal of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
1 Peter 1:6-9.

God's personal care for believers in Christ!

Matthew 7:7,8..."Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.":

Matthew 7:7-11 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Is there anyone among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets.

As God is perfect, so His care must also be perfect and complete. The following overview covers some of the key areas of God’s personal care for believers in Christ as His beloved children. These are truths that are of special importance to new believers.

The letter to the Hebrews

Résultats de recherche d'images pour « hebrews 1 »

This epistle was written as a word of exhortation to call Jews back to the Lord.
It is a wonderful book . We don't know who wrote this book. Really God wrote this book. It elevates Christ and shows that Christ is far superior than anything else.
The author immediately focuses on the deity of Christ, he elevates Christ in the eyes of his readers.
The Greek word Christos, the equivalent of this word in  Hebrew is Messiah Those words mean the 'anointed one' . Jesus when he was raised  from the dead, Jesus is the anointed one. What does this mean that Christ is the anointed one?
These first three words tell us. The key word is better. Christ is better than the prophets (the first 3 verses) Christ is better than the angels (the next ten verses)
What did God do? He spoke
When did He speak? In the past
How often in the past?
In which way? various ways
He spoke through the prophets
How did God chose to reveal himself?
He revealed himself through the prophets. In which ways?
Dreams, visions, speaking to them
God revealed himself to those prophets, A prophet is one who speaks for another. Ex 7 v1 Moses'prophet was Aron.
These first verses are all about the old testament and tell us that Christ is better.
Jesus created everything
Jesus radiates the glory of God.
He is the exact impression of God Jesus said When you've seen me, you've seen the Father!
Jesus being called Emmanuel, Emmanuel meaning God with us!
Let there be light and there is light.
His words created all things.

105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it,
that I will follow your righteous laws.
107 I have suffered much;
preserve my life, Lord, according to your word.
108 Accept, Lord, the willing praise of my mouth,
and teach me your laws.
109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands,
I will not forget your law.
110 The wicked have set a snare for me,
but I have not strayed from your precepts.
111 Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.
112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.

Testimony

Image result for redeemed by Jesus
This is Tracy's testimony, a beautiful praise to our Lord Jesus.
As a child growing up on the island of Guam during the seventies, I found a little booklet entitled, "This Was Your Life" which told the story of a rich man who died. He stood before God who replayed the man's life and it was found that he had rejected Jesus Christ. God then banished him to the lake of fire. I was scared. The back of the booklet said that I needed to believe in Jesus in order to escape the flames of hell, so I prayed to God and asked him to save me. I didn't know exactly what I was doing. I just knew that I needed some help from God to stay out of hell. It was like following the instructions on the back of the cake mix--I wanted to go to heaven so I followed the instructions. I didn't understand that being saved is about having a relationship with Jesus Christ--but God met me where I was and, in time, he perfected my understanding.

I was not reared in a Christian family, but I went to church every once in a while, said a prayer before eating (sometimes, I guess, I do not think every time), and recited "Now I lay me down to sleep..." sometimes before going to bed. I'd pick up the Bible every once in a while, but I got sleepy or bored every time I tried to read it. I went through my life living like most other people in this world do. I had opportunities to pursue Jesus, but chose not to--Satan was my lord.
Most of the things that I found fun and exciting, I now reject as unholy. I did what I wanted to, but was never completely comfortable with the wild life I was leading. I feel confident that the Lord took my prayer as a child and kept me from being completely sold out to Satan and never making it into God's kingdom.

During one semester in college I had an Anthropology course that said humans are descended from apes, a Philosophy teacher that said God does not exist, and a Humanities teacher that called the Bible a myth. For the first time in my life I was confused about God. Even though I didn't really read the Bible, I believed that God was somewhere in the background. These people were telling me that he did not exist. One day I wondered to myself, "Why do I believe in God? Is it because my parents told me about him?" I did not know that God heard me and that he was going to answer.

A few years later, I graduated from college and went to work. One day as I passed the desk of a co-worker, I saw a booklet entitled, "This Was Your Life" lying on her desk--the same tract that I found as a child in Guam almost 20 years earlier! It was like seeing an old friend. I asked if I could borrow it and she said yes. I greedily read it and eventually ordered other tracts for information. Soon after, I began to read the Bible like there was no tomorrow--the television in my apartment wasn't even plugged up, I was too busy reading God's word.

The Lord Jesus showed me a lot of things. First of all, he cares about me and everything about me. He desires to be my everything. He also showed me that he loves me and wants to be my Lord and companion. The Lord is holy--and I, as his child, should be holy too. I learned that a life of holiness is wonderfully fulfilling. Now that the Lovely One, Jesus Christ, is my Lord and my Saviour, why would I return back to the filth and vomit that I once had? I am not going back. God does not want anybody to go to hell, but he will not let you in heaven without repentance and faith in his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ who is God manifested in the flesh.

When you make the wise decision of making Jesus Christ the Lord of your life (instead of yourself), he will save your soul. And as you read his word in faith, he will help you as you start obeying it and you will be transformed by the renewing of your mind and you will start proving that good and acceptable and perfect will of God--you will be a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. As David said in Psalm 23, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." As a child of God, you are joint-heir to everything that the Creator of the universe has, yet you are to be the humblest and meekest of persons.

After I started to walk with the Lord Jesus, my life completely changed. One day an old acquaintance called me up. We were on the telephone about 30 to 45 seconds when she said, "Tracy, what happened? [Have] [y]ou been born-again or something?" I was glad to hear from her and I wasn't trying to sound differently so I was surprised by her comment. Can you see how God can change even your conversational style?

I used to think, "I'll serve God when I get old like Grandmama." I am so glad that that didn't happen! Why is it that we want to give all our good years to Satan and then give the leftovers to the Righteous One? I used to think that serving God would be such a bore. How wrong I was! My life is more exciting than ever--the Bible gives me work to do as a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ and as a wife, mother, and neighbor to my fellow man. I have made up my mind that I will NEVER go back to that wicked place I used to live. I will reprove it and see souls saved and walking with the Lord. I will live my life for the Lovely Jesus. In the best of times or the worst of times, I have no where else to go but him. Glory to God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. How my God woos me to heaven--and every step of the way I know that one day my faith will be made sight.

Some famous people in this world have called Christians losers because Christians do not run to the same excess of riot with them. Christians no longer spend their time in the world's perversions like drugs, adultery, fornication, addictions, perverse language, evil imaginations, rebellion, lawlessness, pride, television, and their music and movies. Not because we are so good (we were once in the world, too), but because the Lord Jesus Christ has redeemed us from sin and as we read and obey his holy word, our desires actually change. When I sin, I certainly don't feel good about it and I try to avoid it everyday. I may be despised by people in this world, but I can say with the psalmist,
...I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalm 84:10
If Jesus took a sinner like me and made me clean, he can do the same for anybody willing to repent their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Follow him. Repent, and believe the gospel. The following scripture has been placed on my heart of late:
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring up; do you not perceive? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. Isaiah 43:19, 21

Miraculously Healed while reading the Bible

All of a sudden, things looked very odd to me. I looked at my fingers like this, and I could see some fingers and others I couldn’t. ‘Am I having a stroke or what is this? What’s going on?’”
Click here to watch the video
Sue Wynn was twenty-eight years old with a promising career when the first symptoms appeared. After several trips to the emergency room she got disturbing news. “The ER doc said, ‘I must tell you, you have a fifty percent chance of having MS.’ I just dismissed it. I said, ‘I don’t have time for that. This can’t possibly be that. I feel fine.’”

She moved on with her life and career. But one night at homShe moved on with her life and career. But one night at home with her husband, her symptoms erupted. “I was sitting watching the evening news with Jeff. And Jeff has a tendency to like to jiggle his foot, and so I said, ‘Jeff, stop jiggling.’ He said, ‘I’m not but you are.’ And I was going like this (head shaking), and then it started going like this (intensity of shaking increased), and then it started to go like that (It grew progressively worse.), and I was scared to death because I didn’t know and I couldn’t stop. It just kept going like that.”

Her family doctor confirmed her fears. “She says, ‘I think this is MS’. My breath just went out of me I couldn’t breathe, you know. ‘How could this be? What? How can this… my whole life is before my eyes and I’m just saying everything is gone.’”

Sue’s husband, Jeff was affected by the diagnosis. “There was a complete darkness in our lives; a complete depression in our lives.”

Her neurologist found lesions on her brain and immediately started treatment for Multiple Sclerosis. Her condition deteriorated quickly. Within a few months she was forced to retire on disability. “It was just continuing on with this relentless attack. There was no helpful branch to grab on to. I couldn’t slow it down. The tremors started in April of 1996, and by August I needed forearm crutches to walk.” Jeff watched as Sue’s health deteriorated. “I was losing her.”

Sue joined an MS support group to cope with the disease. She made friends with a woman there who invited her and Jeff to church. “We were very skeptical at first. I mean me; I was New Age, Buddhism, Hinduism all that mixed together. Here Jeff is an atheist. So what are we doing sitting in a pew?”

Jeff had his reasons for joining Sue in church. “I was agreeing only because I thought it will distract her from the pain and the agony of MS.”

“But, they were so nice to us. And we just decided we wanted to go back again. Then we went back every Sunday.” Sue remembers, “It stirred us – we were being stirred – we were being touched by God. I wanted to commit myself to Him.”

They met with the pastor to find out more. “He took us through a membership class, and I learned about grace. And so we got up in front of the whole church and said,’We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’ It was life changing – life changing.”

As Sue grew spiritually, her health was deteriorating. The doctors were out of options and offered her chemotherapy in an attempt to slow down the disease. “I got so sick. I just said to Jeff, ‘I can’t – I don’t think I can do this anymore. I really want to stop.’ Within just a few weeks of stopping the chemotherapy everything intensified, everything went downhill. That was very difficult – a very difficult time.” One Sunday her pastor shocked the congregation. “He was standing in the pulpit and said, ‘I’m going to stick my head out. I’ve had a vision and in it Sue, you are healed.’ And I didn’t believe healing was for today and yet my face lit up and I smiled.”

Sue’s doubt didn’t stop her pastor, and he met with her and Jeff regularly for Bible study. “He says, ‘The first thing we need to do is go to Hebrews 13:8. Read it out loud.’ The minute I said, ‘Jesus Christ is the same – the same yesterday, and today and forever’, I was immediately convicted that I had limited God. I was saying He doesn’t do that, and this Word was telling me, ‘Oh yeah, He does.’”

She began reading healing scriptures and with each visit from their pastor, Sue’s faith for healing grew. “I had faith and I’m saying, ‘Oh yeah, yeah, He’s gonna do it.’ I go to bed this one night and a wave of doubt – ‘Who do you think you are? MS is incurable. You’re fooling yourself. You’re not worthy.’ On and on… and I was crushed. All my faith, it seemed, went right out the window.”

“I heard in my heart, ‘You’re sinking in a sea of doubt.’ And I knew it was the Lord. I knew it was His voice.” Sue went downstairs and read her Bible. “All of a sudden, I felt a sensation that I had not felt before. I had felt maybe little tiny touches, nothing like this. It was like oil was being poured on my head from the inside, and was slowly diffusing down through everything, out to the fingertips, down to the toes – everything. And I knew that as it was happening, it was Jesus, and He was healing me. Everything wrong sat right just right down through my body. And I knew I was healed.”

“I woke up the next morning and I felt like I had been plugged in to a super charger. I mean I’m like, ‘There’s power in me that I have never felt before. I mean this is a whole new thing. Oh my goodness, what has happened?’”

At her next visit to the neurologist the doctor confirmed her miracle. “He looked in my eyes first and there was damage in my left eye that was visible with an ophthalmoscope, and it was gone. And he said, ‘This is God.’ He tested my whole body, did all the usual neurological tests, and there was no evidence of any neurological problem.”
For more than a decade, Sue has been free of MS. She and Jeff have started a ministry, using her miracle to share Jesus with others.
“What I really want is for others to know Him – intimately. I pray that when I speak to them and when I give them my testimony it makes them hungry, and that they want to pursue God. He is just endless, and what He does is endless. And with Him nothing is impossible.”

Luke 9:23

As Jesus spoke these words, everybody knew what Jesus meant. In the Roman world, before a man died on a cross, he had to carry his cross (or at least the horizontal beam of the cross) to the place of execution.

i. When the Romans crucified a criminal, they didnt just hang them on a cross. They first hung a cross on him.

ii. Carrying a cross always led to death on a cross. No one carried a cross for fun. The first hearers of Jesus didnt need an explanation of the cross; they knew it was an unrelenting instrument of torture, death, and humiliation. If someone took up his cross, he never came back. It was a one-way journey.

iii. In the real-life crosses of the Roman world, no one took them up (suggesting a voluntary action). Instead, crosses were impressed upon people, quite apart from their willingness. Here Jesus said that those who follow Him must voluntarily take up their cross.

iv. This isnt to suggest that we can choose our way to die a living death as followers of Jesus; but as the unchosen circumstances come into life, we choose to bear them as a way to daily die for Jesus glory.

Denying yourself means to live as an others-centered person. Jesus was the only person to do this perfectly, but we are to follow in His steps.

Immediately after telling his disciples of his coming suffering and death, Jesus told them they had to be prepared for similar treatment. The disciples of Jesus are those who have given their lives to Jesus, and they will be obedient to their master even if it leads to hardship, persecution and death.
They will no longer rule their own lives, but will deny themselves personal desires in order to please Jesus. In sacrificing the life that puts self first, they will find the only true life.
On the other hand those who live for themselves may gain what they want in the present world, but they will lose the only life of lasting value, eternal life ( Matthew 16:24-27).

Fixing our eyes on Jesus!

At the interval, in the church of Vaussais

The audience, during the break Vaussais

Why do we focus on Jesus-Christ solely?(a) Why do we keep our eyes on Jesus-Christ?
Maybe because our trust is in Him who walked on earth and was perfect! So, Jesus-Christ obeyed his Father and went to the cross, giving his life to save ours! He practised what he said!

When I talk to people about being a Christian or christianity, some will mention wars started because of religious leaders, i.e. crusades ...
I have been going to the choir Sinfonia since March and it's great fun. Some members of the House church attend it too. Tonight, after our concert, somebody, let's say R mentioned that so many wars started because of religion and religious leaders, i.e. crusades, the world wars..I just replied that Jesus asked us to love our enemies and I realised that there was a surprised look in R's eyes.
I quoted Luke chapter 6 verse 35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
My friend agreed and mentioned that he couldn't think of many people who turned the other cheek!

Let us run in perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus. 8 by 10 print.:

Brownies made with honey!

Yes I had to look up some recipes because Steven's bought some honey last week and I ran out of sugar. I thought I had some brown sugar but I must have used it.
Anyway for the recipe, click here  ; it says put rum of vanilla, in  the end, I put some gingerbread flavour syrup.
You may want to know what was the occasion. Well our friends Dave and Marylin usually host a bible study and prayers and as they've gone to England for a family wedding, we hosted it.
We talked about Habakkuk and added that we can have a conversation with our Father God, thanks to what Jesus did on the cross for us, how wonderful that is!

Who am I?

A beautiful song!
"Who Am I"
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart?

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow.
A wave tossed in the ocean.
A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I'm calling.
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling.
And You've told me who I am.
I am Yours, I am Yours.

Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again?
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me?

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow.
A wave tossed in the ocean.
A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I'm calling.
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling.
And You've told me who I am.
I am Yours.

I am Yours, I am Yours, I am Yours.

Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
'Cause I am Yours, I am Yours.

Have a great week-end!

A prayer tonight. The Lord bless you with peace and joy this week-end and pour his love onto your families. May He strenghtens you through his Word and may you be a light for others who don't know our Lord Jesus-Christ. Let's praise the Lord for he is holy, good and just. He watches over us, his sheep, for He is a caring shepherd. You are his children and He loves you dearly. We ask this in the name of our saviour Jesus-Christ. Amen.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35)

Then Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”(John 8:12)

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. (John 10:9)

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”(John 10:11)

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”(John 11:25-26)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

Prayer for broken hearts

Photo

Prayer for broken hearts.
Heavenly Father, we pray for all those whose hearts are broken today. You know the reason for their pain, their circumstances and we ask that you would be near them and wipe their tears. Draw them closer to you, bring them comfort and peace, strengthen them in these difficult times.
In Jesus' name, amen.

Fixing our eyes on Jesus

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, our beautiful Saviour who died for us,  is something that I should do all the time. I'd like to say, yes I do that Time after time, I wish I had fixed my eyes on Jesus, our saviour full of compassion and gentleness and also our King. So why not?
1 - I get distracted. When an annoying situation arises, instead of giving the burden to my Lord straight away, I try to sort it out myself on my own efforts..needless to say that it does not take long to realise that it is not working and none of it will be sorted. In fact, time after time, the Lord has shown me that it's only when I quit and i ask him to help me that the mountain disappears, for His glory. Just like that, yes but let us not forget the timing! In the Lord 's timing!
This takes us to number 2.
I forget about the timing. Essential, crucial. The Lord's timing is not ours. Why? well because we are not living in our final Kingdom. Though we are heirs with Christ, we are still in the world.
3 A question of faith. Have you noticed that on some matters, we do not have any doubt, whereas on others, we are not sure at all. At the same time, someone in your family or among your friends will feel very different about the same matter. Their faith will be stronger than ours. Why? They believe what they read in the Word of God, they take it in their hearts and it's theirs forever. Not only that, they share it with us. It is so encouraging to meet godly people like that. You can tell they are on the rock. What they say does not move and they can explain it to you. When they say, the Lord is moving in this area of my life or in this town, you believe them. The Lord is at work in your life. Do you know it? Are you aware that the Lord is moving people, He is transforming others and all you have to do is to respond.
If you were in the valley of shadows, wake up, look forward, the time is coming when beautiful things are going to happen in your life, in all areas of your life. Trust in Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.
Have a blessed week-end in Jesus-Christ Amen.

Alive in Jesus

All Around Me"

My hands are searching for you
My arms are outstretched towards you
I feel you on my fingertips
My tongue dances behind my lips for you

This fire rising through my being
Burning I'm not used to seeing you

I'm alive, I'm alive

I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing

My hands float up above me
And you whisper you love me
And I begin to fade
Into our secret place

The music makes me sway
The angels singing say we are alone with you
I am alone and they are too with you

I'm alive
I'm alive

I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing

So I cry
(Holy)
The light is white
(Holy)
And I see you

I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive

And I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing

Take my hand
I give it to you
Now you own me
All I am
You said you would never leave me
I believe you
I believe

I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healed
