Do not judge and you will not be judged.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and it will be given to you.

Consider Jesus!

I have called you by name;
You are mine!
Have a blessed day today.

9 December 2016

It's the week-end!

O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

2 For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.

3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.

4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

6 And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the Lord rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.

11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swims spreads forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.

12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

Only a week left
at work
the pupils' eyes
dilate at the thought of
Christmas
They can't wait
for Christmas day
I pray that every child
on that day hear Jesus' voice
whispering in their ears
I love you
You are mine
I knock on your door
Let me in
A precious note
signed
Jesus-Christ,
the Saviour of the world.

I’m Washed in the Blood of the Lamb!

4 John,
To the seven churches in the province of Asia:
Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne

5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness,
and the first begotten of the dead,
and the prince of the kings of the earth.
Unto him that loved us, and
washed us from our sins in his own blood,

(Revelation 1:5 KJB)

Hazelnut brownies

Ingredients

Serves: 12

225g butter, melted
300g of brown sugar (or more depending on your taste)
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 eggs
225g plain flour
110 g dark chocolate (70%) at Liddle
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
80 g grilled hazelnuts

Preparation method Prep: 20 min |Cook: 20 min

1. First, preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Lightly grease and flour a 23 x 30 cm baking tin.

2. Next, heat butter and dark chocolate. I used the microwave

Then add sugar and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time.

3. Sift flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder and add it to the mixture. Beat it slowly until flour mixture and butter mixture are incorporated, add the hazelnuts then mix again.

4. Pour it into the baking tin and bake it for 20 minutes or until a skewer poked into the centre comes out clean.

5. Let it cool. The brownie will be crumbly if you eat it right away. Let it cool and it will be chewy and not crumbly. Patience is a virtue.

Note: I changed this recipe!

If you are diabetic, there are sugar-free chocolates available at some supermarkets and you may use Isomalt as substitute for sugar but in very small amounts. Editor's note:

This recipe was edited by Allrecipes.co.uk staff, to conform to measures and ingredients that are familiar to UK and Irish cooks.

Jesus continued on as if...

They stood still, their faces downcast.
18 One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”

19 “What things?” he asked.

“About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20 The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel.

And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.
22 In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning 23 but didn’t find his body.

They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. 24 Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.”

25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”

27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

28 As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. 29 But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.

30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them.
31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognised him, and he disappeared from their sight.
32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

A special parrot.err...

Well, it's pretty difficult to find excellent jokes these days...tonight I found this one about a special parrot..
One day a man goes to a pet shop to buy a parrot.

The assistant takes the man to the parrot section and asks the man to choose one.
The man asks, ''How much is the yellow one?''

 The assistant says, '' 2000.''
The man is shocked and asks the assistant why it's so expensive. The assistant explains, ''This parrot is a very special one.

He knows typewriting and can type really fast.'' ''What about the green one?'' the man asks. The assistant says, ''He costs 5000 because he knows typewriting and can answer incoming telephone calls and takes notes.''

''What about the red one?'' the man asks. The assistant says, ''That one's 10,000.''
The man says, ''What does HE do?''

The assistant says, ''I don't know, but the other two call him boss.''

The letter to the Hebrews

Résultats de recherche d'images pour « hebrews 1 »

This epistle was written as a word of exhortation to call Jews back to the Lord.
It is a wonderful book . We don't know who wrote this book. Really God wrote this book. It elevates Christ and shows that Christ is far superior than anything else.
The author immediately focuses on the deity of Christ, he elevates Christ in the eyes of his readers.
The Greek word Christos, the equivalent of this word in  Hebrew is Messiah Those words mean the 'anointed one' . Jesus when he was raised  from the dead, Jesus is the anointed one. What does this mean that Christ is the anointed one?
These first three words tell us. The key word is better. Christ is better than the prophets (the first 3 verses) Christ is better than the angels (the next ten verses)
What did God do? He spoke
When did He speak? In the past
How often in the past?
In which way? various ways
He spoke through the prophets
How did God chose to reveal himself?
He revealed himself through the prophets. In which ways?
Dreams, visions, speaking to them
God revealed himself to those prophets, A prophet is one who speaks for another. Ex 7 v1 Moses'prophet was Aron.
These first verses are all about the old testament and tell us that Christ is better.
Jesus created everything
Jesus radiates the glory of God.
He is the exact impression of God Jesus said When you've seen me, you've seen the Father!
Jesus being called Emmanuel, Emmanuel meaning God with us!
Let there be light and there is light.
His words created all things.

Lazy week in London

While I was up above in the sky, well, in the plane, I felt very grateful to our Father in heaven as the girls and I were blessed with a great hols! Two weeks abroad, one spent in London with Imo and the second week in Malta with Imo and Cam. Here are a few photos. Last time I went in a plane was in 2012 when Steven and I went to Rome and I enjoyed the experience again!
From the plane 19 Oct Ryanair Poitiers to Stansted

At an Indian restaurant, N3

On the Thursday Imo took me to Hackney city farm established in 1984. Their aim is to give youngsters and local people the opportunity to experience farming. Nearby, there was an exhibition by #Green creates so we had a look. Great stuff!

I particularly liked the pieces above!
Sadly I realise that if you stop talking about the environment, or recycling for instance, its importance may be forgotten! We travelled by bus in London and we were pleased to notice that more drivers switched off their engines when not on the move. This should have a significant impact on harmful emission levels which build up around stationary traffic.
More to come...so watch this space!
Have a blessed evening.

105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it,
that I will follow your righteous laws.
107 I have suffered much;
preserve my life, Lord, according to your word.
108 Accept, Lord, the willing praise of my mouth,
and teach me your laws.
109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands,
I will not forget your law.
110 The wicked have set a snare for me,
but I have not strayed from your precepts.
111 Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.
112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.

Hallelujah!

Encouraging verses

mWho is a God like you, npardoning iniquity
and passing over transgression
nfor the remnant of his inheritance?
oHe does not retain his anger forever,
because he delights in steadfast love.
19  He will pagain have compassion on us;
qhe will tread our iniquities underfoot.
rYou will cast all our6 sins
into the depths of the sea.
20  sYou will show faithfulness to Jacob
and steadfast love to Abraham,
tas you have sworn to our fathers
from the days of old.

Just a normal Saturday in an unusual life...

My first fudgy coconut brownies are in the oven now! click here for the recipe!
The only change I made was to use gluten-free self-raising flour only because I had some and it saved me from adding the 'levure' to the French flour. You cannot find in French shops self-raising flour so you need to buy the 'levure' separately and then add it in the flour according to  the instructions. Oups, there was another change i should mention, I put some roasted cob-nuts that Steven picked up from under the tree, sorted the bad ones from the edible ones and then roasted on the bbq as you do...Well it took him lots of time to do this..still as he is a retired gentleman, why not, his word not mine!
I kept a bag of gluten-free flour for Camille whose diet is gluten-free.
Well it's been and is still very hot out there. When we went for an ice-tea at the local café, I compared today to an August day.
