Do not judge and you will not be judged.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and it will be given to you.

A question for you!

Who said that ?

People hold cheap what they see every day of their lives,
but when confronted by extraordinary events are dumbfounded,
though these events are truly no more wonderful than others.
Governing the universe is a greater miracle than
feeding five thousand people
with loaves of bread,
but no one marvels at it.
People marvel at the feeding of the five thousand
not because this miracle is greater
but because it is out of the ordinary.
Who is even now providing nourishment for the whole world
if not the God who creates a field of wheat from a few seeds?

2 clues: His name starts with A.
I'll post the answer tomorrow!

Father, I abandon myself into your hands.

Father, I abandon myself into your hands.
Do with me whatever you will.
Whatever you may do I thank you.
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done
in me and all your creatures.
I wish no more than this, O Lord.

Into your hands I commend my soul.
I offer it to you
with all the love of my heart.
For I love you Lord
and so need to give myself,
surrender myself into your hands
 without reserve
and with boundless confidence
for you are my Father. Amen

I am with you!

When we have to face a difficult situation, it is good to affirm our faith and remember that our Father in heaven cares for us so much everyday. Pick up your bible or google a bible app where you will find many verses that tell us about putting our trust in the Lord at all times and many others that tell us not to be fearful.

This morning, I stopped on these verses inIsaiah 41:10(NIV)
10 So do not fear,(A) for I am with you;(B)
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen(C) you and help(D) you;
I will uphold you(E) with my righteous right hand.(F)

Saturday bike ride

I was wondering why I haven't gone on my bike more often this month, the answer being simple, the weather hasn't been that good! At lunch time, I went out but the wind was very cold and bitter, it started to rain so I came back home twenty minutes later. I went on reading a beautiful book called Faith stories by John Sentamu. At about 2 the idea of biking came back so off I went again. Not far, to the next village called Great Haywood. If you cross the first bridge (for the canal) and then the second bridge (for the river Trent) you find yourself in Shugborough Estate. Well on the path that surrounds it as you have to pay to get in. There weren't many people around. The sun was in and out; it hailed for three minutes. I had a great time relaxing in a beautiful environment. Here are a few photos. Have a blessed Saturday.

Your choice!

As Imogen is a vegan, she has to drink soya milk, on the other hand, Camille has chosen to drink soya milk. When Imogen visits us from uni and then goes back to London, she leaves behind the bottle of soya milk she has started and naturally in order to avoid wasting, I finish it. I actually like the nutty taste of soya milk. Steven on his part does not drink milk at all and hardly uses it in cooking. He will have a black coffee!
I did a bit of research and after reading that, I am very tempted to switch completely to soya milk.
What do you think? Do you drink lots of milk anyway or not? Have you ever tasted soya milk?

Unlike cow's milk, soy milk is naturally low in fat. Regular-fat soy milk contains slightly more fat per cup than 2% milk, but it is naturally free from saturated fat (which is considered to be more unhealthy than unsaturated fat ). ( More on fat contents in milk )

Because it is made from plant material instead of an animal byproduct, soy milk contains no cholesterol . Dairy milk contains about 20 milligrams of cholesterol per cup. An adult's recommended daily allowance of cholesterol is 300 milligrams, and many people with high cholesterol or some types of heart problems are better off consuming well below the usual RDA of cholesterol.

Soy milk is also high in protein . One cup of soy milk contains about seven to ten grams of protein. This is similar to cow's milk, which contains eight grams of protein per cup. Although some sources say that soy protein in soy milk is undigestible or an incomplete protein, this is not true. Soy milk protein is a complete protein and is highly digestible. Here is an interesting chart!

What do you think? Do you drink lots of milk anyway or not? Have you ever tasted soya milk?

Happy Valentine day!

Time flies and I was surprised to see that the last time I blogged about our Valentine day was in 2012 when we went to Norfolk!
I hope that you had a blessed Valentine day. After our bible reading, Steven and I had an egg in a bun for breakfast. Then we went to Stone and after a tour in the town, I bought some kale for the rabbits, we had a drink and read the papers. Remembering our engagement that took place 8 years ago!
At 6 pm we walked to the local pub, the Bank House inn where we had a wonderful diner! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Did you have a special time today with your loved one/ones? Blessings, N.

Putting on the Character of Christ

Hixon luncheon club

It was great to return to Hixon luncheon club run by a wonderful team of dedicated volunteers and talk to everybody there. As it is Valentine day tomorrow the tables were decorated with chocolate hearts. Vera and David who celebrated their birthdays today brought a superb selection of wine and non-alcoholic beverages.! Lunch was wonderful, it included minced lamb and a lovely selection of various vegetables followed by a choice of apple strudel and custard or red berries jelly.
The quiz brought a lovely spirit of competitivity, every team had to write down the names of all the English counties that have a boarder by the sea! When my team was stuck I waved my mobile and offered to help them with Google map but I was promptly reminded that I should not cheat! Yep, I knew that of course. Ten minutes later Steven suggested the same thing and they all nodded ok. Shocking!!! Well the answer was, 'we can move the goal post when we want!' So we all had a good laugh!!!! Here are a few photos of everybody. Have a blessed day.

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
13 planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
Psalm 92 12-15

Amazing creation!

Good morning! Here is a small 'beast' I faced in Valras plage!
Let us praise the Lord for an amazing creation!
And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground - everything that has the breath of life in it - I give every green plant for food! Genesis 1:30
Have a blessed day :)

Kale or sprout?

I was wondering why the price of kale's s gone higher in some supermarkets but not at our local marke (Stone). I read the following in the Telegraph not in a health magazine!
For all the attempts by fashionable chefs to dress them up with pancetta, chestnuts or even hazlenut chimichurri, for many people there remains something fundamentally unpalatable about Brussels sprouts.
So it comes as something of a surprise to find that the humble - and much maligned - sprout has given birth to the latest 'superfood’.Born from a cross between Brussels sprouts and kale, the flower sprout has not only become increasingly popular with British shoppers but is now being exported around the world. Sales have grown by 300 per cent in the last three years and it is now being stocked by a number of leading supermarkets, including Waitrose, M&S, Asda, Sainsburys and the Co-op.
The new breed of green vegetable, which was first developed fifteen years ago, is praised by its advocates for its sweet 'nutty’ flavour and versatility in the kitchen. Like kale and sprouts, the flower sprout is also classed as a 'superfood’ because it is a good source of vitamins and dietary fibre.
Voila! At the moment, its the vegetable that our two rabbits love the most...I should try it and then convince my hubby that it's tasty too!
I'm off playing badminton at Weston village hall.
Have a blessed Monday.

The rich man

A rich Christian man was talking to God, "Can't I take it with me when I go?"
God always answered the same way, "NO!"
Finally one day the man talked God into it and God said, "Okay you can take two suitcases full of anything you want."
The man filled up two suitcases full of gold.
When the rich man reached the pearly gates St. Peter asked the rich man why he had two suitcases. The rich man said, "It's okay I've already cleared it with God."
St. Peter asked him to open the suitcases,
!Then the rich man opened the suitcase, St. Peter said, "Why did you bring paving?"
